What apprenticeship programs are offered?
The range of apprenticeship opportunities is wide, spanning from Information Electronics Technician to Office Management Specialist. You can find all of Netzkontor’s current apprenticeship openings in the job listings at the top of this page.
How can I apply for an apprenticeship?
Further up on this page, you'll find a list of all the apprenticeship programs we offer. Under each program, you'll see whether we're currently accepting applications. If we have openings available, you can apply by clicking on the respective company.
When does the training program start, and what is the application deadline?
Start date for the apprenticeship: August 1 or September 1 each year
Application deadline: annually by May 31
What documents should a job application include?
A complete application must include the following documents:
- Cover letter
- Resume in table format
- Copies of your last two school transcripts
- Certificates of internships and volunteer work
- Work samples (if applicable)
How does the selection process work?
The selection process takes place in several stages. First, we review all applications and make a preliminary selection. If you’ve caught our attention, we’ll invite you to a personal interview. At some Netzkontor companies, we’ll then invite you to a trial workday.
How can I prepare for the in-person interview?
Think ahead about your future and your future career. What skills do you bring to the table? What interests you? What are your talents? Why are you interested in the apprenticeship program you’ve chosen? What are your expectations for your apprenticeship?
Of course, you can also ask questions during the interview. Show us that you’re interested in Netzkontor and that you’re familiar with our companies and our services.
What are the chances of being hired after completing the training program?
If you successfully complete your apprenticeship and a suitable position becomes available at a Netzkontor company, there’s a very good chance you’ll be able to continue working with us after your apprenticeship. However, we cannot guarantee that you’ll be hired.
Where can I get a job?
In principle, any department or subsidiary of Netzkontor can hire you. This depends on your personal skills and interests, as well as the capacity of the respective units.
At which locations is training provided?
Netzkontor has training locations in Berlin, Leipzig, Ahrensfelde, and many other locations. Be sure to check the specific job posting to see where the position is located.
How long does the training program last?
The duration of the apprenticeship is 3.5 years in the technical field and 3 years in the business field.
(The training period may be shortened under certain conditions, e.g., if previously completed training periods are recognized, if the trainee holds a secondary school diploma or a (specialized) high school diploma, or if the trainee demonstrates very good performance during the course of the training.)
Is there a probationary period?
Yes, the probationary period is four months.
What are the rules regarding working hours and vacation time?
You'll receive at least 27 days of vacation per year (plus special leave, such as for exam preparation). Your weekly work schedule is 40 hours.
Which professional associations are responsible for the apprentices?
The Chambers of Crafts and the Chambers of Industry and Commerce in the respective locations are responsible for this.

Gross monthly salaries vary depending on the trade being trained for. Here is a breakdown:
