For Students
Student Internships at a Glance:
- We offer student internships starting in 8th grade
- The internship lasts a minimum of 1 week (consecutive and full-time)
- We recommend that you submit your application at least 4 months before the internship begins
- One-day internships for career exploration are also available on short notice at select locations

- We offer internships that can be completed alongside your studies in many departments and companies
- Ideally, you’ve already completed your third semester
- Student interns typically stay with us for three to six months
- We recommend that you submit your application at least 4 months before the start of the internship

General Questions About Internships
Can I do a student internship (work placement) at one of the Netzkontor companies?
We offer student internships in various departments. Generally, internships are available in both business and technical fields. The best way to apply is online at praktikum@netzkontor.de.
How much time should I set aside or plan for a student internship?
So that we can get to know each other well, you should plan on spending at least one week working full-time for the internship.
Can I also do a voluntary trial internship at Netzkontor during the holidays?
School breaks usually coincide with vacation time: That’s why we often can’t provide you with the best possible support during this period, so we only offer internships very sporadically during school breaks. The best thing to do is simply inquire at praktikum@netzkontor.de.
In which areas does Netzkontor offer student internships and part-time student jobs?
In general, we offer you the opportunity to complete an internship in all Netzkontor companies and departments. You can also actively support us as a working student. To apply for an internship or a working student position, check the Job Openings section for current postings. If there are currently no suitable internship or working student positions advertised, you’re also welcome to send a speculative application to praktikum@netzkontor.de two to four months before your potential start date with us.
What qualifications do I need to be eligible for an internship while I'm in college?
We only offer internships that are related to your academic studies. Ideally, you should have already completed your third semester to be eligible for our student internships.
As a college graduate, can I do a voluntary internship?
Unfortunately, no—our internship opportunities are open exclusively to students.
How much time should I set aside for an internship while I'm in college?
The more time you can commit to an internship, the better we can give you insight into day-to-day work life. We typically hire student interns for a period of at least three and up to six months, depending on the university’s academic regulations.
Can I write my bachelor's or master's thesis at Netzkontor?
You’re more than welcome to write your thesis at Netzkontor. Ideally, you’ll have already successfully completed an internship at one of our companies. Since we place a high priority on providing intensive guidance while you’re writing your thesis, the topic should also align with our interests. Apply directly through our Student Page. What documents and information should my application for a student internship include?
In addition to a cover letter or statement of purpose—in which you should also specify the start date, duration, and desired area of work—you should include the following documents with your online application:
- Resume in table format
- Current transcript
- Certificate of enrollment
- Certificate of mandatory internship (if applicable)
- Diploma from your most recently attended school
- Employment or internship references (if available)
